Note:  The essay How to Be Healthy follows this note about two essays that are must reading.

Power of Love  — Know this to be true:  Love has the potential for bringing us, our families, our nation — the entire world — peace, joy, happiness, and harmony if we understood, believed, and did what Jesus and other biblical teachers said. How do we learn to love? You will find the answer in this essay.

Know this to be true: The Gospel that Jesus preached and that he commanded his disciples to preach to every creature in the world would bring peace, joy, happiness and harmony to ourselves, our families, our nation — the entire world — if people understood, believed and did what Jesus said.

You could study the Bible and listen to sermons all your life and never discover the truth that makes you free, if you do not do what Isaiah said, which was later confirmed by Jesus. However, Jesus' use of the personal pronoun "I" might have caused some confusion about his teachings.  To learn the truth about the gospel that Jesus preached and what other biblical teachers said, visit the site:  Peace, Truth, Love, and Joy

How to Be Healthy

Various factors bear on one's health; for example: genetics, exercise, stress, and  diet. However, a vast majority of the visits to doctors are because of psychosomatic illnesses (those illnesses that are caused by obscure fears and subconscious faulty beliefs).

The Old-Testament Prophet, Job, was known as "the greatest of all men of the east."  He had an abundance of material possessions: seven thousand sheep, three thousand camels, etc. He lost about everything, and it seems that he became suicidal. In addition, Job was troubled with a skin disease.  He said, "My days are swifter than a weaver's shuttle, and are spent without hope." (Job 7:6). Job also said, “For the thing that I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me” (Job 3:25).

Isn't it interesting that more than 3,000 years ago Job knew fear was the underlying cause of his suffering. Yet many people today do not seem to know that the cause of their mental turmoil and suffering is within themselves. Shakespeare said, "The fault is not in the stars but in ourselves."  We do not solve problems if we do not know the cause. Instead, we treat symptoms.

Unwarranted subconscious fear underlies hate, anger, emotional insecurity, jealousy (the green-eyed monster), the problems in sex and relationships—the hidden cause of all psychosomatic illnesses and all social problems.

Similarly, the solution to the the problems that plague us most can only be found within ourselves. The solution is knowing the truth that makes us free. Jesus said, “Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32)—free from fear, and consequently, free to love as Jesus and Moses said to love.

David the Psalmist said, “Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is within me, bless his holy name. … and forget not all his benefits; Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases” (Psalms 103:1-3).

From this passage, we realize that the healer of disease is within us; God is within us. When we obliterate all that is fearful, false, and evil from our heart, what remains must be true. When we do what the Apostle James said to do — when we purify our heart — then we are in harmony with truth, God, and Nature—our body will heal naturally.

Nature is a great healer (the word Nature as use here is the same as God). If we cut a finger, we Nature goes to work immediately to stop the bleeding. And, if we do not let the finger get infected, the cut will heal soon. The same force goes to work to heal our body of psychosomatic illnesses when we obliterate unwarranted fear, and consequently, are in harmony with truth, God, and nature.

Knowing this helps us understand and appreciate what David the Psalmist said: “Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is within me." Can you imagine — can you comprehend — what our life would be like if we began each day thankful for our blessings ... and they are abundant and they are free?

A Thought For Today: If we do not learn to understand, believe and do what Jesus and other biblical teachers said — if we do not find peace, joy and happiness — now, when will we?
